T3 Green Plus is made exclusively from sustainable Responsible Wood and PEFC Chain of Custody certified Australian plantation pine. Australian plantation pine is a greenhouse positive product with a lower net environmental impact than almost all other building materials. Meaning it is one of the only building materials that actually helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
VOC Free Treatment
T3 Green Plus is a no VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) timber preservative product and virtually odour free, making it uniquely people friendly and suitable for both indoor & outdoor framing projects.
Sustainable Performance
Wood is an ideal structural medium, with a strength-to-weight ratio 20 percent higher than steel and 4 to 5 times better than non-reinforced concrete in compression. Every piece of T3 Green Plus is scanned up to six times prior to a structural grade being awarded, and this data is retained for a year to ensure full traceability back to the forestry plantation it was harvested from.

A Truly Sustainable Product
The production and processing of wood is highly energy efficient, giving wood products a very low carbon footprint. Wood can often be used in place of materials like steel, aluminium, concrete or plastics that require large amounts of energy to produce. In fact, "substituting a cubic metre of wood for other construction materials (concrete, blocks or bricks) results in the significant average of 0.75 to 1 tonne of CO2 savings"*.

Storage and Protection
Uncoated T3 Green Plus is termite and fungal resistant and can resist the effects of weather for short periods, typical of normal construction environments and timescales. However, it should be stored in dry conditions wherever possible. After delivery and prior to use, T3 Green Plus should ideally be protected from moisture by covering with a waterproof membrane and storing above the ground.

Handling the Product

T3 Green plus products are safe to use, however handling timber and wood products, including preservative treated products, may present certain hazards. Hyne Timber recommends taking the following precautions when handling or disposing of timber and wood products:

  1. Only use treated timber products that are visibly clean, dry, and free of surface residues
  2. Use a dust mask or air extraction to avoid inhalation of sawdust when sanding or using high speed machine tools
  3. Wear gloves when handling the timber and to brush sawdust off skin and clothes
  4. When using power saws or machining, wear goggles to protect the eyes from flying particles
  5. Wash hands after work, prior to eating, drinking or smoking

Waste Handling
T3 Green Plus off-cuts and saw dust are not classified as hazardous waste; however regulations for disposal may vary in different jurisdictions. For most residential users, treated timber off-cuts, waste pieces and shavings can be disposed by ordinary waste collection. Trade and commercial users may need to check local requirements.
