Why Wood is Good

Wood is 100% sustainable:

  1. "Substituting a cubic metre of wood for other construction materials (concrete, blocks or bricks) results in the significant average of 0.75 to 1 tonne of CO2 savings"*.
  2. The process of manufacturing timber uses substantially less fossil fuel energy per unit volume than steel, concrete, or aluminium; meaning that timber has a very low carbon footprint.
  3. Since timber is a natural element, it is non-toxic and safe to handle. Even as it ages, it does not cause damage to the environment.
  4. Timber is renewable, recyclable, waste efficient, biodegradable, carbon positive and sourced from Australian grown plantations.
  5. Using timber in building construction can maximise Green Star energy ratings and carbon credits.
