All timber used outdoors should be equalised with the environmental moisture content (EMC) prior to use, to avoid any unnecessary reshaping of the boards.
Freshly treated or moisture exposed timber is used, due allowance should be made for expansion and contraction of the boards. Note that wet T3 Green Plus boards will return to their specified size within 2 - 3 weeks of dry weather.
Any T3 Green Plus product installed in weather exposed situations must be sealed with a suitable timber paint or stain coating, such as Cabot's Timbercolour, Intergrain NaturalStain or a suitable equivalent, to maintain optimum serviceability, appearance and dimensional stability. All surfaces must be adequately coated to ensure the timber is protected from the elements.
Ensure T3 Green Plus is clean and dry before applying any coating products, and that that the coating manufacturers' instructions are followed carefully. Coatings must be maintained as per the instructions of the coating manufacturer - particularly when subject to harsh environmental conditions.
Note: Failure to apply and maintain a suitable coating product may void the T3 Green Plus warranty.
T3 Green Plus must not be re-sawn or re-sized after treatment except for cutting to length or notching as required for fitting and joining. These processes may reduce the protection afforded by the treatment and may void the guarantee.
Where the timber is cut, notched, drilled or rebated - the exposed areas must be resealed with a suitable treatment preservative product such as Tanalised® Enseal Clear, Tanalised® Ecoseal, Protim® Solignum® XJ Clear or an equivalent to ensure that an integral treatment envelope is maintained.
