IN FOCUS: GLT21 at Mt Mulligan Lodge

Mt Mulligan Lodge is Outback Queensland’s newest luxury resort.

Located 160 kilometres west of Cairns, the lodge is situated on an idyllic, 28,000-hectare property at the foot of majestic Mount Mulligan. It’s a working heritage cattle station with a luxury twist.

Here, our engineered GLT 21 beams and connections sit perfectly alongside 100 year-old ironbark salvaged from Sydney’s Pyrmont wharves. This creates a very visual, tactile combination of laminated forest reds with proud maritime history. Both timbers are a long way from their origins, but are now making themselves completely at home.

Our Glulam Team is mighty proud of the contribution they made to helping Melbourne Architect David Dubois achieve his vision for this spectacular homestead. It's a project that earned David and his team an ‘Excellence In Timber Products Award – Recycled Timber’ at the 2019 Australian Timber Design Awards. This project is also a finalist in the Architecture and Design Sustainability Awards. More news soon.
