Hyne Community Trust Grants Now Open
Between now and the end of June, Tumbarumba based community groups are invited to submit their applications for a grant valued over $10,000 as part of the Hyne Community Trust.
The application form and guidelines are available on the Hyne Timber and Snowy Valleys Council websites as well as hard copies available at the Tumbarumba Council Offices reception.
Successful applications will demonstrate one or more of the following:
Cooperation between organisations to ensure that a wide range of people can benefit from community resources;
Increasing the range of, and access to, quality community, recreational, social and cultural projects, programs and services;
Community development initiatives and socially responsible community projects; and:
Support for organisations that are working to assist economically or socially disadvantaged people.
The Hyne Community Trust Directors will shortlist applications ahead of interviewing applicants to gain further insight including timeframes and discuss potential funding of their proposed project.
Chairman, Dale McLachlan said the annual Hyne Community Trust has been supporting community projects since 2007 totalling over $450,000 being contributed to date.
"These grants are for larger projects that have a lasting impact on the town.
"Since 2007, they have assisted many community groups including funds to build the amenities block at the Equine Club, extensions to the Carcoola Children's Centre, a half Basketball Court, construction of the Tumbarumba Men's Shed, support for Can Assist Tumbarumba and more recently, Cycle Tumbarumba towards the new Pump Track.
"Hopefully community groups have been considering this funding opportunity for some time and are ready with projects to apply for a grant.
"I encourage all potential applicants to read the guidelines carefully as in the interests of consistency, if applications fail to comply, they will be deemed ineligible and therefore unsuccessful.
"We had some applications last year which were less than the minimum $10,000 value for example. A minimum $10,000 value is an eligibility criteria which needs to be met.
